Hope and Compassion, can changes everything for the better!
Union Rescue Mission and Hope Gardens are two charities I am passionate about. I have worked with them tirelessly over the years by contributing my time and efforts helping in any way I can. Due to the negative effects of the Covid-19 crisis, our business suffered a drastic drop in sales and production. It was during this time that we received a call from Andy Bales, CEO of Union Rescue Mission, indicating URM was in need of food supplies. Andy had the idea that URM could serve their guests pizzas and said “we need pizzas and I thought of Patty’s! You’ve helped us all these years and now we can help you”!
It truly was a miracle feeling that God is watching out over us! Andy proceeded to place orders from us to help feed the over 1,000 people who are housed at the URM facility. URM has had to face so many challenges over the years and dealing with this deadly virus is just one more for them, I don’t know how they do it other than with grace and courage!

The toll of the Coronavirus has left URM short staffed. I decided to go down to the URM facility once a week helping serve the women, children, families, seniors and men who stay there. We baked off just under a thousand pizzas (I lost count) and that was just for their lunch! Realizing they do this three times a day… amazing! Even though it is heartbreaking to see families and individuals struggling, I get a sense of thankfulness knowing they have a safe haven like URM. The URM staff is incredible and continuously positive, it is a pleasure to be working with them. I actually feel I am working with true Heroes with No Capes!
It’s a long road ahead for all of us, but I believe there are rainbows at the end of it!!!
